i have a '97 4 door accord and on the driver's side, the power window is malfunctioning. i can bring it down without a problem, but when i try to roll the window back up, it's like the power cuts and i have to repeatedly press the up button on the window control in order to close it. is it time for a new motor?

 

Unless the motor has puked try a silicone spray lube in the window channels/tracks. Helped mine. The motor is working twice has hard to lift.

 

i have the same problem with my 96, i've tried everything in hopes of getting the window to go up smoothly w/o me having to lube up the tracks every week

no dice tho, just get used to spraying the tracks down with silicon spray everytime you wash the car

 

so when the window is up you spray between the window and the rubber moldings inside the door, do you spray from the inside and outside?

 

I sprayed the silicone between the window tracks. It didn't do **** but, make my windows greasy. I think I should take the door panel off.
