Coolant Comming out of Manifold Bolt Hole
I had to have this bolt extracted because the head broke off (old bolt, not over tightened) about 5 months ago (put a new bolt in). Now I have Coolant leaking out of that exact same bolt. Is there any way to fix this problem or am I looking at another fun project?
Am I correct to assume that you are referring to the intake manifold? Which motor? Did you remove the aforementioned manifold when this bolt broke? Was the gasket replaced? Were the bolts torqued properly and in sequence?
as soon as i read the title i thought mani gasket. you also might want to try some teflon paste on the stud end to seal the whole so coolant doesn't puddle inside of it. remember to work inside out in a circular pattern when torquing back on (and to proper torque spec)
I don't think that coolant flows around the exhaust manifold. (I could be wrong.) Does this bolt lead to a coolant passage? Is it possible that the head cracked near that broken bolt?
exhaust mani! holy crap! you may have just tapped into a jacket by accident when fixing the threads, or it could be cracked. the cheapest and easiest way to get a semi fix would be to teflon tape the stud and re-install it. the other way would be to fill the bottom of the whole with epoxy (or you could go cheap and easy and use liquid metal or jbweld). then re-install stud.

That's not good at all. How did you go about extracting the old bolt? If you drilled it you may have went too far and made a hole into the coolant passage. Hopefully this is what happened and you didn't crack the head. I would pull that new stud out of there and take a look in there (shouldn't be too hard if you just replaced it). You could even start the car to see if it shoots out of the hole just to make sure it isn't leaking from the headgasket.
If you did just drill too far then I think you could get away with just putting some teflon tape on the stud when you reinstall it. I'm not sure how it'll react to the heat of the exhaust but it's worth a shot.
