Default Oil Leak problem B16a

ok i was told that i had a leak comgin from ether the vtec selenoid or the distributor well i checked and it does'nt look like its coming from ether of them cuz its leaking down by my head gasket and its really pising me b/c i cant find where its coming from there is not anti freeze in the oil and no oil in the anti freeze not smoking i dunno what else it could be do you guys have any idea

It is either one of them believe me. The oil runs down the head and pools on the corner of the headgasket. I had the same problem and replaced the seal around the solenoid and then the o-ring on the distributor shaft. After that no more oil leak.

Hmmm...interesting. Do a compression test to rule out the headgasket and then go from there.

yeah but if it was the head gasket would'nt there be coolant in the oil and would'nt it run hot

No, the headgasket can seep oil on the outside it happens. There are several things already mentioned that can cause a leak there and it always looks like the headgasket. Compression test will not show this problem at all. Coolant and oil mix only when either the gasket is REALLY blown or the head or deck are warped badly.
