What is this black crud on Cylinder Head?
Well somethign recently broke on my boosted D16z6. So I am in the process of replacing it. Well I pulled the valve cover off of my D16 and found this black crud all over. What is it? I can scrape it off and it crumbles when messed with so its not pieces of rod or piston right? lol

I see that all the time it is lack of oil changes. The oil breaks down into that sludge. Unless you have owned the car for a long while its probably not your fault. It takes quite some time for that to happen.
nothing wrong w/ walmart oil.. i use it in my turbo gsr... change it every 2K miles.. anf my internals look fine... slug like that is a result of neglect from oil changes..
