Default 3" Exhaust on CRX

Hi!
Anybody that has made a 3" exhaust for a CRX... i made mine yesterday and it got very low , went under the the fuel tank and the lower control arm. Using 2 60 degrees bends, 1 15deg, and 1 30degress.
I have made the same system for couple of others CRX's but with 2,5" and it's has bean quite good, but with 3" it got f***'

Anybody that has made a good 3" system? How, what bends?

why didnt you just follow the stock bends? 3" will fit. and thermal makes a 3" catback exhaust

thermal is just like KTeller 3" CRX exhaust difference is Thermal has the 4" round midpipe canister/resonator before the first bend from cat.

stock routed.

if i ever run exhuast straight out it will be 3" from cat-back. under gas tank.. under brace where tie bar.. and under spare well with the hks style dual tip muffler from x3 sticking right out angled 15-30* up. all piping painted with rust protection and painted flat black.

2006 Si concept. with exhaust coming out center.

I've made my exhaust of stainless steel, here is a picture when i had it with 2,5" but now i i have remade it to 3" cuz i've got a 3" Dp. And the rout is exactly like you say. But if I lower my coilis more it will get f****

the N1 muffler is to long and will get to long out from the bumper..if you take the stock route.

I got a great deal on a brand new thermal 3" ($300 brand new from some kid).
Like was said, it follows the stock exhaust path.

i'm sure it muffles the noise better and deeper with it being bigger. then the n1.

i dont like the way slowpokesi exhaust looks.

Thats the knock off n1 muffler, its 18 inches long im positive that its the same as the regular n1

whats not to like about it, you either like the n1 mufflers or you dont. I like it, I like the way it sounds, when it was na and it sounds even better with boost

well, i have a stock bumper, i think its retarded when people posisition the mufflers so that it comes out the wrong side of the car,

diffrent strokes for diffrent folks, there isnt any bling from the pipe going across, the car is slammed so unless your laying on the ground looking or unless your about 50 feet back its not really that visible.

I have often pondered this dilemna.....

Solution: cut out spare tire well and make it flush with the trunk are (new sheetmetal).

Then you'll have plenty of room for the exhaust to straight through the tunnel and room for the can too.....

Cons: must use fuel cell and you lose spare tire storage.

pro's: shorter, straighter exhaust path

My solution was to take only 1 turn in the exhaust tunnel and exit in front of the passenger's side rear tire. No can. 2 inline resonated sections.

I only have 2.5" piping, but there's no reason 3" wouldn't work the exact same way..... and turbo is definitely quieter than my allmotor bizzle...

Alternatively, you could have a thermal 3" exhaust with that weird sideways can in similar configuration as stock and if you're concerned about exhaust path flow - add a cutout to the downpipe.....

and look at that ground clearance

screw having an exhaust running under there. youll be dragging it all over the place. have fun with speed bumps lol.

btw, slowpoke, your si rims are on backwards

The EX's ran in all OEM spots and fit real good
It was all custom with a 3 inch thermal muffler.
