Default Integra GSR needs: Master clutch cylinder leaking and new timing belt

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about buying this Integra GSR with 70k on it. In really great shape but after taking it to the delearship, they said it needs a new timing belt/includes water pumps/belts/etc ($650) and the master clutch cylinder is leaking ($350).

Are these prices good?

I don't know what the "master clutch cylinder" is? Is there permanant damage to the car, or is it normal wear n' tear? Should I still buy the car for $8700 or so?

Where could I get some good deals in the Washington DC Area?

Thx.

what year teg is it , if you know someone who works on cars get them to do the maintanence . the clutch mc is only like 80$ in parts save your money. is all just normal wear on the car. timing belt water pump should be changed @ 70k ,you would rather pay o change it know than to have it break and deal with it then. and always use oem parts.

Just changed the Master Cylinder on my 96 GS-R this weekend. I used a remanufactured one that cost $95 (Cardone brand) and installation took about 15 minutes.

wtf.. timing belt kits are like 170 from prostreetonline and isn't that hard to do yourself.. master cylinder for $350 is a joke right? that thing costs around $100 and takes less than an hour to replace. dealerships sucks (i know since i've worked for a couple )

master cyl isnt hard at all, ive seen them for 75 + shipping. and timing belts can be difficult if u dont set it to TDC. ull get a nasty *** idle, and rough driving.

the KBB value for it's at 8.5k.

i'd say if it has these problems, talk the seller down a bit and use the money you saved for a quick fix
