Default Question about the engine of the Honda Jazz

Does anyone know about the types of engines that the Honda Jazz/(fit) operates on? It is known that it has two type of different engines, which is the i-dsi and the vtec engine. The question is does the vtec operates like a fuel economy engine like the vtec-e ? Does the vtec engine of the Jazz have a high-end power delivery at a certain torque?

http://www.vtec.net has the info you're looking for.

It's the L-series engine, one is i-DSI with two valves and two spark plugs per cylinder, and one high performance variant comes with one spark plug per cylinder and VTEC, although I'm almost positive it's VTEC-E as opposed to your typical SOHC VTEC.

1.5l vtec L engine has 4valves/cylinder but only 1 intake valve is vtec. exhaust valves are not vtec. single cam is ivtc.

The L15A is the "new D-killer" according to Honda. Compact yet efficient engine with "power VTEC" as some call it. Its not VTEC-E. This engine is REALLY nice on a light car!

This is very interesting.

I wish we had more of these cars here, and fewer SUV.

i have been looking for a larger, but economical vehicle for a few months. i was able to borrow an xB scion for about a month. i have also looked at the cr-v and element. i don't want or need an suv and the scions definitely feel like an economy car, though well-executed (very toyota).

i have been waiting for the jazz/fit to come to our market and hoe it will fill the bill, so to speak. also, we are considering the new crx, if/when that comes along.

I can wait for the Fit to get here, or the jazz same car. I'll be ripping that little motor out and installing a k20. then its off to the tracks for me, new track car.

I'm in Hong Kong right now and I must say that the Fit and Jazz are very nice cars. They are very popular over here.
