edelbrock performer x on 16y8

edelbrock performer x on 16y8

i have a 2000 civic ex with cai header exhaust and pulleys. i was gonna get the performer x manifold but i was told since i have the obdII wiring harness that the manifold wouldnt help and would only reduce engine life. i need help i dont know what to believe i cant see how more air through the manifold would really mess up my engine that much. any suggestions would definately help. thanks

Whoever told you that was full of ****. It probably won't help your rather stock setup much, but it will make a slight difference overall.

The only issue it could cause with your engine is a lean condition, which really should not be a problem, since your ecu runs rich, and will adjust for this at partial throttle

+5whp gain over the stock Y8 manifold.

No problems on that type of setup, and no, it wont reduce your engine life. I've had the edelbrock turbo on my 00 civic for 35k miles and making 175 whp.
