car takes for ever to start...running out of ideas
I've got a 94 del sol with a b16 swap in it. It use to start just fine but ever since it came back from the paint shop it has a hard time starting. If i crank it for like 5 seconds wait for 10 seconds and crank it again it will try to start...wait another 10 secons and most of the time it'll start but the other half the time I have to repeat the procedure over and over for a while. I had previously ran the grounds that ground on the thermostat housing over to the car body. I tried moving it back to the thermostat housing and it's not making any change. I've tried a variety of other things but with no luck so far. I'm running Nology wires and they are a bit old but i was wondering if there is anyway that they might be going bad. Like perhaps the capacitors in the wires are going bad and it takes a bit of time to charge them or something...i don't know.. Any thoughts please let me know...
by the way...once it's stated it runs great

I used to have the same problem. It was the cap and rotor worn out ($30) on mine. Check spark plugs, clean em up and try it. Ignition timing? Recheck w/ timing light.
I've changed out the cap, rotor, entire distributor, and plugs. I just checked my ignition with an inline light and all cylinders are good...I also just checked each injector harness with a noid light and they're all good. I just bought the kickass 500 dollar snap on digital timing light so I'll check the timing tomorrow. Any other ideas?
I haven't replaced the fuel filter in probably 4000 miles since I built the engine and put it in...I've drilled the small hole on my regulator like on the endye website...fuel peaks to 45psi then falls (because of the hole) but as i'm cranking it holds around 30-35psi. I had thought I was getting to much fuel at startup and that's why i had drilled the hole in it but it was doing this before I drilled the hole.
borrow a good known set of plug wires and see if they help
maybe ure fuel pump relay is going bad
check the power to the ECU and the ground connection

$482.50 to be exact...but it's sooo kick ***..
I bought some plug wires from autozone today.....just some cheapies....they didn't really effect it.
Fuel pump is kicking on every time I go to start it...i have a fuel pressure gauge in my engine bay and in the car and it holds steady...would that rule out the fuel pump relay or is there something else i can do to check it?
