Car won't start, Honda Accord LX 1996
My Honda Accord LX 96 won't start after car wash, even after a brand new battery was put on. In the past, it happened two times under very wet weather but both times was jump started. I was told that the followings are possible: a) starter problem, b) fuel injection problem, and 3) moisture (on cables, distributor, starter, etc). The spark plugs were not replaced for quite a long time (>3 yr). What of the followings should I do? a) change starter, b) spray start fluid to the air intaker (where is the intaker openning? near air filter?) to see if the injector works, c) replace spark plugs, d) just wait for sunny and dry weather. Any help will be gretly appreciated.
Remove the dist cap, and dry it out, you can spray it with some brake cleaner to evaporate the water, you might want to get the plug wire towers off the spark plugs and check for water in the tubes. Or you could just wait for some dry sunny weather.
Thanks for the tip. The weather is dry and cold today and the car is up on its feet now although it took some effort to bring it up. The the spark plugs were changed but it seemed that they were not the real issue. The moist (and dirty injector?) might be.
