Tein Coilovers.....Difference Between Flex and SS...??...Is it more than the mounts and EDFC?
What are the differences if you know......I've done all the searching in the world I could.
Flex:
Top Pillowball mounts
Compatible with EDFC
SS:
No pillowball mounts
Not Compatible w/ EDFC
They both are 16 way adjustable........Are there any other differences????

Well....My Plans?....They are mixed.
I will be getting into a little bit of track racing and time trials but not going nuts. Have never done it yet but would like to start.
Mostly something I can Daily Drive and take the long way home through the mountains...and do some early morning Canyon Runs....Handling is the most important thing in all the cars I've owned.
My last car I went far over budget and had to eventually sell it and lost a few Grand.....I don't want to go back into debt.
This car I have a budget.
But I want a Full Coilover Setup and My Friend Has Tein Flex on his 2000 Prelude and they are exactly what I am looking for. But if I can go with the SS and save some money and use my stock mounts it would help. But I will spend the money if the Flex are worth it.

* Full-length adjustment and height adjustment for separate setting of the height and spring preload.

SS:

Same for 92-96
Also you can go lower with the Flex....More Height Adjustment.

Also, the dampers on both suspensions are different. from all reports, the dampers on the SS are basically crap. the FLEX's are probably better. If you're going to be daily driving with some track time, i'd go with the flex's, forget the stupid EDFC, or look into an another brand of suspension altogether.
the only advantage the FLEX's have over GC+Koni is that you can maintain adequate suspension travel as you lower the car alot. as far as the dampers themselves go, koni > all. if you're going to run the flex's, find out what the rear shocks can handle as far as max spring rates and get rid of those understeer inducing soft *** 6kg/mm springs...you can either bump the rears up to 10 or 12 kg, or swap the 9kg spring in front to the rear and run a 7kg in the front, or something like that.

I have no personal experience with Tien suspension systems, however, a couple of weeks ago I want to a local shop (Pro Spec Performance), looking for a set for my car. I had been to the shop previously, and they had always dealt with Tien suspensions, they use to swear by them. Well this time when I went in they no longer had any Tien products. I asked what was up with the switch, and they said for the past year or two the quality of the Tien components was going down hill, and it had gotten to the point where alot of customers were comming back with damaged or broken suspension parts, even without doing anything ridiculous with them, just the normal driving and alittle track time now and then. They have since switched to Tanabe and have been that way for about a year now without any complaints, and he also runs the system personally on his car. I suggest that you look into Tanabe as they are priced similarly and seem to have better build quality. just lookin out man
