B16 swap problems
My B16 is finally in. Swappes a first gen b16 out of a CRX SiR into my '89 honda CRX DX. Got the wiring from http://b16a.honda-perf.org/theswap.html. I used the wiring down at the bottom under EF DX. The engine cranks over fine. We can't hear the fuel pump kick on and worse yet we have absolutely no spark. We did the "ground the wire to the valve cover with a screw driver" and even with all the lights off in the black of night couldn't see even a faint spark. We cranked it a few times without the ecu bolted down because we forgot to do that. Could this have caused the ECU to go bad? There is no red light when the key is turned on and althought the check engine light is on, there is no blinking. Is the ECU bad? I checked the ECU end of the wiring 7 or 8 times and i'm sure it is the same as what i'm told to do on that site. When i got new rotor, cap, and wires i kinda had to guess what engine to get them for. I ended up getting them for a 91 CRX Si. Could this be a problem? Is there anything else i should check? How should I check the fuel pump?
hang on spark plug wires for a crx si? d16a6 non vtec. on my sohc vtec i needed wires with longer protrusions(sp?) to reach the plugs. are your sparkplug wires seated correctly on the plugs?
