CRX B16 Swap Wiring Guru's
I am removing my b16 from my crx, and putting it into another crx which we can presume will have a d-series. The ECU is PR3, OBD-0.
I did not do the initial wiring of this swap. I have the engine out, and as I unplug the ECU I see a bundled wire set of 4 that came from the bay. See the last photo for where the wires go on the engine, looks like 2 O2 sensors, vtec solenoid and the 4th goes into the side of the head.
These 4 wires split and run to 3 different plugs, which look to be connected to the main harness on the inside of the car, see photo 1.
I don't know whether this is stock wiring and I should leave it with the CRX, or whether it was custom done during the swap and I should cut/remove the wiring.
My concern is simply, when I purchassed a new crx, will I have to open the 3 plugs these wires are going to and mimic what you see below, or will i simply pull the plug from the engine side out of an old D-series, and plug it into my B16.
If it is not as simple as pulling a plug from the D-series and reinserting it into my B16, should I cut these wires at the plug? or cut the plug out as well? or take the entire harness that is behind the dash?
Is this standard wiring for b16/crx's? part of the swap harness?
Below, the 4 wires coming from the engine-bay splitting to 3 different plugs, each of the 3 plugs all join up with the harness behind the dash.
The plug which the 4 wires go to engine side
The 4 locations the 4 wires attach to the engine at, presumably 2 O's, 1 vtec solenoid and the 4th into the head...
