How smooth were the bends thoough ? I'm not against making something.
I saw Jesse James weld a exercise weight on a table, and he had himself a tubing bender.

A sheet metal bender, and maybe the one thing that puts the dimples in the sheet metal ( forgot the name, but I know its put in the sheet metal to add strength)
I tossed in the Jesse James comment wondering if anyone else built anything.

they were decent, it wasn't a perfect angle put if you had something to replace the 2x4 with that had a good 90 degree edge i bet it would be decent

Nice, but how clean do the bends come out ?
I was thinking of welding a dumbell weight to the end of a table, so I can bend metal.

very flimsy, i reinforced mine with flat stock. It isn't very stiff and can be a little of a bear to use. Still not bad for the price.

Dude, if you want to make anything worthwhile your going to be spending a lot of money of machines and parts to make them all work.
Cheap manufacturing makes cheap parts.

Dude, dude, dude, dude, I need one to bend metal to make a battery box, why would I spend 400 dollars on one, its not like I'm going be building big custom pieces.

So you can use it to make other stuff. If you're making only one box, and will never, ever, make anything else, fine, use blocks of wood and a BFH. Or, have sheets cut to size for each side and have it welded together. Of course by the time that's done it makes the above tool look cheaper...

I am not saying its not, its a great deal, it just needs some work
and I am sure anybody who needs a metal bender could make this work real well for super cheap.
I know a guy who did this to his light duty bender and its held up great.

wow, soo much trouble for a batt box? 1: cut each side, and weld the seams
2: buy a battery box ,summitracing.com
3: buy a real sheet metal bender.

Well it was not just for a battery box, I'm sure I would use it a little more but can't see spending 400 on one, might pick that one up for 40
