Default EF EX?

Call me crazy but there was no EX model for the EF chassis right? That would be a 92 with a d16z6. There were only LX and DX for the 4 door civics. Thanks, people on craigs list pissing me off.

never mind just found my answer. Pound for pound, how do the 4 doors stack-up against the hatches? I am thinking of getting one cheap, cause there are so many, just to futz around with. Everyone wants a mint for old EF hatches but the sedans you can't give away. Thoughts, for, against? I am thinking fix it up, sell and get a stock EK. Ok thanks for reading my waste of space post. Bored on Tuesday morning, oh, and read subiesport magazine, cool STis in this issue, (www.subiesport.com) lates.

The only ED (not EF) EX I know of is the sedan.
All power options just like the LX sedan , but with the D16A6 and Integra size front brakes.
No rear disc.
Also had a different final drive in the tranny than the Si.

Are you saying there was an EX hatchback too?
I never heard of that before.

you will have to excuse my use of EF and EG as I am not a ***** for proper chassis designations. I thought the 92-95 cars were the start of the EX. So a sedan is not an EF but something else? Only hatches are EF and EG? I dont care, you know what I mean.

haha..

We've got a mixup here:

88-91 Civic's and CRXs are called EFs in here, that's the JDM chassis codes. The USDM chassis code is ED.... now on to the models

EF Civic Hatch:
DX, STD, and Si

EF Civic Sedan:
EX, DX, LX

There were no coupes.

90~91 was the start of the Civic EX in the sedan model.

ok so I can get a 91 ex. Trying to get one with blown HG. I would do a MiniMe too, can I get the stock ECU to run a minime if I throw in a VTEC contorller? Or do I need a P28 and go OBD-1? I will search too and see what I find.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1153447 this kinda answers that. Will a fields contoller work? Of course if I did a minime and a1 pistons I would need to tune...so VAFC would be better. thoughts?
