Hi,

I am looking to install a data logging system with video overlay. I would like to be able to log lateral/longitudinal acceleration, speed, damper position, and correspond it with our camcorder.

I am currently looking at the Race Technology system DL1 with the optional video overlay(http://www.race-technology.com). It supports extra inputs which I could use for damper position, and has GPS.

Has anyone here used this system? Is the software user friendly? This system at 1000USD with the video overlay seems to be a reasonable price for the features it has. Can anyone recommend a good distributor in the US or even better in Canada?

it's an awesome system i've been using its predesessor DL90 for couple of years i sold a few units to other ppl here actually. not the cheapest but worth every penny. and it is very affordable compare to high end systems. the software is fully function d/l it and try it out.

i haven't had a chance to try to video overlay function but i will "very soon now" (tm).

 

I was going to use it on a FSAE car but found out it wasn't waterproof.

Analysis software is pretty decent and GPS is cool for that low of a price.

 

I have a DL1 and I love it..... It has helped me out more then a few times... I can send you some data from you to look later today when I get home from work..

Be careful when purchasing this data logger. Some are not legal for the race series. NASA, for instance won't allow MXL.

 

any reason as to not allowing the mxl? the aim sports david stand alone is nice too and you can hook up a mychron dash to it as well

 

I LOVE my DL-1 and credit it with finding me about 3 seconds since November.
