Default Q on ITBs and Injector sizes

I might sound like a rookie, but I was wondering if it would be worth it for me to go with ITBS on my h22a. The motor is basically stock, just cams, an ok port and polish, and valve train, I also have a STR side exit race header. Im trying to squeeze more power out of the setup and I dont want to touch the bottum end just yet, but Im looking to get around 160+ tq and 230+ hp. peep the sig for current hp #s. My question is, would this be possible with ITBS. (what are average gains from itbs??)

The next thing that im curious about is if I need to get bigger injectors, right now I am running 370cc saturated RC injectors. Would they be good enough for a 50 mm IRB setup from TWM? If not, then what size injectors would be sufficient? I know im going to have to get rid of my AEM fuel rail but does everyone with TWMs recommend using the twm FPR or would an SX FPR be sufficient, cause thats what I have right now... does the TWM FPR require vacuum or no? any help is appreciated... Thanks in advanced...

run a search on itb and see what comes up. just to let you know, itb's on your car would work but you would see that much of an hp gain but get crazy throttle response mainly because itb where intented for the most modified all motor setups. i think you should wait until you've did your bottom end

370 should be sufficient. Your goals are definately possible, but remember the importance of part throttle tuning, and be sure you understand that ITB's are good for more than just a big peak number.

-thanks for the feedback

Honestly, right now, Im just trying to gather as much info as I can, because I dont want to have to sell my injectors and have to get some 440cc injectors if I dont need them. For the most part, I have heard from a couple people that 440cc is the minimum. My car is tuned right now and my fuel pressure is at 30 psi with vacuum and I think 40 or so without... it would seem like overkill with 440 cc injectors. I also want the ITBS for more midrange hp and tq... right now, I have HELLA high end, right after vtec (6100rpm), but no kind of midrange... Throttle response is also what Im after... what are average gains for folks from itbs and tuning???

370's won't be sufficient.

My friend maxxed out 370's.

550 is the ideal injector size w/ itb's.

37 Lbs injectors will be fine with your setup and TWM ITB's

Go to http://www.rceng.com and then online fuel injector flow rate.

I am not 100% sure i put in all of the right values

but for 230 whp you would want 270 crank *.15 drivetrain loss is 230
number of injectors =4
brake fuel consumption =.45-.5
max injector duty cycle= they say don't go over 80%
fuel pressure what are you running?

and then click and voila that should tell you what injectors to get

Was that not good enough? the only thing you need to punch in is your fuel pressure. Quite simple

as far as cc's it sounds cool. but it seems like that is more for manifold setups. it is saying that I need 356cc injectors for my hp goal but in actuality, I have 370 cc injectors, and the fuel pressure is only at 30 psi with vacuum, maybe 40 without, and i still run rich, with 222 hp. That means that im not even using the full 370cc's of my injectors cause they are rated at 370cc's at 43psi with vacuum I believe. It doesnt seem like it is as accurate and I dont want to play guessing games. What Im looking for, is more info from folks that have ITBs and what size injectors they needed to make their setups work.

Like I said, I have people saying 440 is the minimum, a couple posts up, someone said 550 was an ideal injector size. Im looking for more info on peoples setups... thats all...Most threads that I have searched, say nothing or very little on the injectors... For the most part...

Toda C's, Ported head, 2L w/ 89mm crank, 13:1 CR custom pistons/rods(raised .137), 51mm->48mm ITB's.

I'm running 550's and s200.

anyone else have any input. ive waited a few days and only a couple folks replied. just curious, should i start selling my 370 cc injectors already, and look for some 440. remember i have a big boy h22 right now and it runs fine without tuning on 370 cc injectors, which i know a b series would get choked off of. just another thought to through in the mix...
