Default Boosting with JRSC. How to prepare for boost?

So Im boosting my H22a4 and I know that its best to sleeve the block and then drop in forged pistons but I don thave th cash for that. What could I replace NOW, while the motor is out to help prevent my motor from "blowing up" as everyone says.

Get new pistons, valvetrain upgrade, rods if you have the money - if you stay under 7psi, and don't rev the engine like crazy, it won't crash. That's your best bet....but anyway, the parts like sleeves, rods, pistons etc don't really cost a lot. It's really the installation thats an ***. I know it costs around $650-$750 to have the sleeves installed. But that procedure is WELL worth it. But anyway, if you're bold, get the turbo kit installed and get a wastegate with like .5 bar or less and you'll be fine. But eventually, you'll be pissed because you want to go faster...but save your money. Actually - what i'm doing is buying all my parts separately. I have my t3/t40e turbo kit at home, but i want to build the engine right. Trust it will be worth it once you build it right. If you search the forums you'll find a little more information.

First of all, he said he is supercharging, not turboing. You will be fine if you get the jrsc set at like 7psi with stock internals until you have the money saved up for sleeves, pistons, and rods.

err.. for the record... JRSC is 6psi
as far as replacing parts...make sure you get the timing belt done.. you also wanna make sure your compression and leakdown numbers are good. Other than that, get one step colder plugs, make sure you have money for a good tune and a means of tuning your A/F (ie. hondata, AEM, ubertada etc)

The compression and leakdown are REALLY important, that will be a good way to tell what needs to be replaced. If your numbers arent looking that great, adding the stress of boost will definately kill your motor quickly.

btw, dont get low compression pistons, stick with either stock or typeS compression, you'll never see good numbers with low comp pistons.... this isnt a turbo, you wont run over 10psi with the M62
