rpm's don't drop between shifts
lately i've been driving my brothers 5 speed. when you let off the gas in between shifts, the rpm's don't drop for a second or two. he has noticed poor gas milage, probably a result of the problem. anyone have a clue why this is happening?
Does this problem only happen when the motor is cold?
cold start sometherinother bypass on the throttle normally keeps the F23A1's revs around 1500-2100 for a bit on cold days, and if you try to drive her when she's cold, the revs will go up after you throttle and clutch to initiate an upshift.
(end dumb answer).
if it's happening all the time, could be an issue with the throttle body. Ooor the lebanese want their plutonium back,

Its perfectly normall its Just how hondas are... my accord does the same thing... so does my friends civic, and every other honda ive been in so you have nothing to worry about. it's actually a good thing, its kinda like rev matching without you having to do anything, just something that was built into our cars, i thought the same thing you did when i first got my accord. as far as poor gas milage, it could be caused by an old fuel filter, old plugs & wires, pretty much basic tune-up & maintenence stuff. <--- my $0.02, Peace.
