will vtec work on minime swap if i use the 91 si distributor
will vtec work on minime swap if i use the 91 si distributor
cause i got the a switch for it hook up and when i press it i can hear the solenoid click
but i really cant tell a difference at 5000 rpm. So im wondering if its the 91 si distributor
on the y8 head.
i bought the car like this so im not sure. its ok to use that dizzy right? And is there a performance difference between the dizzys.
also sometimes the car wont start up again after riding. if i wait awhile it turns on. could this be the coil . the guy told me it was the ignition relay switch.
All help is greatly appreciated

yes yes yes why would you think other wise. a dizzy only tells time. did you convert your distrubutor? like machine it or cut wires.

i think its machined , if you mean in order to bolt up, and the wires havent been cut.
are you sure its the main relay switch, youve heard of this happening before?
i searched and the only thing i could find close to the problem, they said it was the coil.

First off, what ECU are you using?
If you have the PM6 from the 88~91 Si then you use the 88~91 MPFI distributor.
"dude told me it was cause the egr valve "
What EGR valve? What intake manifold do you have?
There is no EGR on MOST Honda intake manifolds so I'm really curious now.

its the pm6 ecu
i figured that if the computer isnt getting a signal from an egr valve or a certain sensor
becuase it not being there on the manifold would through a code, im thinkin he said egr
might of been iac , i need to get a diagnostics.

The PM6 isn't going to look for EGR.
the PM6 was used on the Si and the Sedan EX.
Neither of those cars ever had an EGR so you should NEVER get and EGR code.
IAC I would believe, but you would have to have it completely disconnected or not wired to the correct ECU pin to get that code.
Do you know how to check for codes? That would help immensely.

OH - and if your VTEC is working correctly and you have the stock cam, then you really shouldn't feel it kick in. You might hear a 'slight' difference in the sound (not even CLOSE to what you hear on a DOHC VTEC) and it will continue to climb in the RPM.
Try running it with the VTEC solenoid wire disconnected.
