Default * What to do about these broken motor mounts *

So I have a '95 LS and the top drivers mount is brand new but the other 4 are done. Especially the two lower mounts which are pretty much ripped free from the brackets...

The Hasport mount kit is alot more $$$ than I would like to spend. And it only come with the 3 main mounts and not the 2 lowers. So only 2 that I need and neither of the lower mounts that I need the most

Energy suspension insterts - I like the $36 price tag but would they even work with my lower mounts being torn so badly?

Right now it looks like I will have to buy 2 new lower mounts and just put inserts in the other 3 to keep them from getting any worse....

Is there a better / cheaper plan of attack for me ????

PM Underpressure02 on here. He has them and says that they are too stiff. I personally am still going to run them. I would rather have vibration than engine movement

Yes, they'll work, my mounts were completely torn when I installed mine, and they (just the three) made a huge difference. I would be cautious to install the solid mounts like Jimfab ect. especially if this is a daily driven street car, those are VERY stiff and will cause all kinds of vibrations throughout the car.

The 2 fronts are a 1 and the rear would be a 7-8

i'd take the old mounts out, line up the inside like it used to be and fill the mounts with urethane that you can find at any lowes or homedepot. theres a brand called wind-o-weld and a few others out there. it comes in a calking tube so you'd need to buy a calk gun. set the mount on your bench, on top of a piece of paper. cut the paper to the mounts size, glue the paper (elmers glue) to the side of the mount. insert the ripped out inner piece and line it up like its supposed to be. now fill the mount with the urethane and let cure for as long as the directions on the tube say to do. this should take 12-24 hours.

i've done this before and its about a 15 dollar fix. its not only a fix, you can do this to mounts that are perfectly fine to make a solid urethane mount that fits in its bracket better than mounts with inserts.

oops, forgot, you have to clean the mounts so everything will stick

I have shot mounts and decided to go with the jimfab front lower mounts and the rear mount.......bought them from another HT member that was parting out his dc2....they look great and I should be putting them on next weekend. So I'll provide some feedback soon.
As for the vibration, I imagine it won't be any worse than having bad mount bushings......it'll probably feel better if you've been driving around with bad mounts for a while.

here's the thread that helped me come to my decision with pics and layouts:

Post a pic of your mounts.

The inserts fill any gaps in your mounts, so they should work. Mine were torn to ****, and the inserts made it ride so much better.

I would like to go with the inserts but I am under the impression that the inserts are for the rear and top 2 mounts , whereas I need the rear and bottom 2 mounts.

prothane sells an insert kit that contains all five mount inserts......I think it goes for $65 to $75.
but I got a great price on my 3 jimfab torque mounts, and that should be enough to keep the motor still.
Prothane also has a 3 piece kit for the torque mount inserts that I think can be found in the HT sponsors section for like $35.
