Default Registering a swapped motor

Hello guys I am kind of new to this whole honda-tech thing. I just wanted to know the steps to take to register a swapped motor. I know it has to do with some referee or somthing, how much does the whole process cost? Thanks guy....I am asking because i am looking to buy a hatch and get a motor swapp, if its too much trouble i wont do it. Sorry I am a noob

welcome n00b, id say search and flame u but im feeling good tonight, u gotta go to the ref get it bar'd. its like $37 what kind of motor are u trying to get? its pretty simple as long as u dont get like a jdm itr or k20

try seraching with the word BAR. i myself am still learnin about all that but i hear its hard to pass.

i dont noe anyone that passed smog yet wit a jdm motor..the only way i noe is gettin it passed illegally

Search a little harder... I've seen at least 6 or 7 jdm motors get Bar'd so far. Just make sure that the motor is the same year or newer and you use all of the smog equpt from the year vehicle you took the motor out of. Its easiest to stay within your own OBD. IE if you have an obdI car stay with obdI motors. Make sure you have a usdm ecu that corresponds with the jdm motor you are going to use... Then hook up your charcoal canister evap purge adn what not and you should be good to go...
