only cyl. 3 looks like this. what is the cause?? car runs like a champ. comp. test had cyl. 3 at 189 all the rest 197...I am planing on turbo should I worry? thanks for the help

 

Does you car smoke a high rpm's?
Might be oil getting by the rings

 

nah..it dont smoke at all..and doesnt go down between changes.>>Thats the first thing I ruled out...2nd was maybe additives...I used that fuel sys cleaner crap...

 

Got the same problem with cylinder #1. The deposit is ash from burning oil. I haven't figured where the oil is getting in but most likely the ring however could be the valve seals as well.

The weird part is that I can take it up to 6k and no smoke comes out. The plugs have been in there for about 10k miles and the others are clean. I think my valves are letting just enough oil get by for it to accumulate over time. I haven't had an adjustment in 15k so I am due. no biggie for now as the car still runs fine. thanks

 

Mine doesn't blow blue smoke either... just a bit of oil getting past the rings I figure.
