Get an OEM one from a Junkyard.

Instead of just getting "the cheapest piece of garbage I can manage to find on ebay to trust my life with".

I have that HKB hub on my hatch right now. It's alright, definitely gets the job done, but it doesn't feel that great. I'm going to upgrade to a Momo eventually, but for now this one is fine. I don't like the black rippled cover thing, it looks and feels cheap. It is.

I have the "BRIDE" steering wheel from Ebay parts/accessories.

There's always a bunch of them floating around.

They're not real or authentic, but that's obvious.

One thing that you might want to know is.... they are NOT BRIDE, OR MUGEN, OR NISMO, or whatever..

All of them replicate the MOMO champion:

There's nothing wrong with buying those steering wheels. They are really good for the money that you pay for them. As long as its' from a good seller, you're fine.

I mean, it's just a steering wheel. Aluminum frame, leather wrap.

The only difference between a real momo champion is the quality of the leather and aluminum frame paint.. no big ****** deal.

Just buy it and take off the BRIDE horn button, or paint the horn button black.

Here's mine, i'm VERY satisfied with what I paid for it.
$1.99 + tax + $27.99 shipping = $31 shipped.

And upon first feel, it feels really realy good. There's nothing wroong with these wheels (Except the logo)...
My friend's had one for 6 months, and it's still good.

And anyways, if the leather rips off in a year or so.. I don't care, I'm buying another one for a cheap assed price.

Better than paying $200 for the same **** you know.

ONE OTHER NOTE:
DO NOT BUY EBAY MOUNTING HUBS!!!!
They suck *****. They suck horribly.

They're cheap and loose, don't tighten well, and sometimes get stuck on.

Spend the extra $15 and get a sparco, momo hub. But buying the ebay wheel is okay.
Remember. EBAY WHEEL
EBAY HUB

those will work, but dont run the chance of getting into an accident then getting dropped from your insurance company due to no air system, and by god why would you leave it up to chance on the other party to sue you if theirs injuries?

could be one of the biggest mistakes you make in life. but do what you want.. i would go oem.

Quick Question:

Would an ebay special steering wheel hub adapter and detachable steering wheel adapter cause minor steering wheel shake? I have a small, but noticable amount of shake that I just can't get rid of.

Also, that "Bride" wheel is 320mm in diameter, which is awfully small. Prepare to feel like you're steering a go-kart every day. And if you have manual steering...ugh, good luck.

Mine is a 350mm and I've got a detachable hub adapter so it sits 2.25 inches closer to me. Plus I have no power steering. Talk about a go kart feel. I absolutely love it. I just wish the steering was a whole lot tigther during higher speeds.

If your whole car shakes, then your steering wheel normally would shake as well.

If nothing else is shaking except your steering wheel (at freeway speeds or more shaking as speed progresses), you probably should try getting your wheels balanced.

That's the whole point.

There are 3 things you want when buying a steering wheel for racing purposes (i do mountains...).

1. Smaller diamater.
(makes the wheel harder to turn, less reaction by each degree you rotate the wheel.
You want that, so you have more control)

2. Completely circular shape (Not elliptical like stock steering wheels)

3. Sometimes most important... Hub attachment bracket COMPLETELY CENTERED ON WHEEL
(this is so that no mattter how much you turn the wheel, the circumference is still spinning with the same origin.
Here's a good example..
You want your steering wheel spinning like your car wheel.)

It has all those, which is exactly what you want. For $31 shipped (Here is PROOF:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...WN:IT)

You WANT that go-kart feel. And my friend with S14 has the same exact wheel... there is nothing wrong with the way it feels, and it is fine for daily driving.

It's not like driving a dinner plate.. honestly. But if you're worried, buy the 350mm version.

I personally think a 320mm wheel is too small, but it is a personal preference thing. I'm more of a 350-360mm guy

Hamster, I know the S14 has a much quicker steering ratio than me (EG CX Hatch, stock steering rack), what car are you driving? That could make a difference in driving experience as well, as if you have, say 2.5 turns lock to lock of a really hard wheel, and I have 3.5 turns lock to lock with the same sized wheel...

Haha... my Mugen hub has the same **** on it... it does look cheap as hell but the Momo one looks the same too.

heh.. yeah, 350mm is usually a good size.

But, i wanted smaller. i just like it for s13's (my friend had a small steering wheel too on his S13, and one of my other friends has this tiny assed nardi classico wheel).

I forget what the lock-to-lock ratio is.... but I know it's very short on the HICAS version S13's. (something around 2 rotations to lock.. i forget).

My buddy just got one for the hell of it. For the money you can't really go wrong.
I must says its not bad at all, felt solid. I don't see it comming apart. I'm even debating on getting one for a quick replacement for my worn oem wheel in my ej, I just feel so wrong buying such a cheap knockoff wheel if I do.

I matched it up with the wheel in my ep which is a 350mm...... its not that big of a difference to me. I suppose the difference will be felt driving it though.
