Default Motor swap question?

Can i use my d15 ecu on a d16 motor? I'm not real worried about vtec working, I just want the car to run. Also can I use a B series ecu on a d series motor?

They don't have the correct fuel maps.. and VTEC won't engage and your CEL will stay on.

I don't know if it will be safe or not.

I'm not 100% sure.

just get the right ecu for your engine.

i don't think you can run a B-series ecu on a D-series, or at least i don't think it will run properly.

yes you can run it but not hard. And a b series ecu will work on a D series. its all about the obd.

a non vtec ecu will work fine to get it to run. i actually had to use a dx ecu to get my car through inspection. and it will not throw a CEL atleast mine didnt.

I'm almost 99.9% sure that if you have a VTEC engine and you run a non-vtec ecu you will throw a code.. maybe your cel is burnt out.

You can pretty much get any engine/ECU combination to run, but running properly is a completely different ballgame.
