Default Brakes, best bang for the cheep buck?

I need new rotors I think. Im pretty sure they are warped beond having them turned on a brake layth(sp?). What are the best rotors I can get for really cheep, and where? I just need somthing to get me by for about a year until I buy the FAST BRAKE big brake kit. Also, what pad and brake fluid would be good?

If you have 16'' wheels or larger you can get the wilwood full compelte kit w/ crossdrilled and slotted rotors w/ large calipers.

90-91 EX front brakes, nothing cheaper! Rotors gonna cost $120, why not just get the bigger brakes for another $30 and be able to build from there?

New Rotors? Call Steve Colletti and get some Brembo OEM rotors. Probably cost you around $100 for all 4 rotors.

If you can deal with some squeel then get carbotech panther plus's in the front and change you fluid. There is no need to change rotors unless yours are warped. All of that cross drilled, slotted nonsense is not going to make you stop any better except in the most extream track situations. If your current rotors are bad then get the brembo OE's from coletti for about $100 for all four.

I second that. Steve Colletti has the best prices on OE Brembo rotors and he is a very knowledgeable and helpful guy (I actually dropped by his shop this past spring and talked to him and he has a lot of good information). But more than likely you will only need the front rotors. I would seriously doubt that you have warped the rear rotors.

brembo blank rotors.
AEM pads are cheap enough for good performers.
Castrol GT (GTX?) brake fluid is great as is Ford HD fluid.

If you want to learn about brakes, and what to do to have better performance from them--then goto the competition forum. Most of the guys there are road racers and I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. HTH

If you are looking for an inexpensive upgrade, get some good quality OEM or equiv rotors and install some Hawk HPS or HP+ pads. These will give all the stopping you will need on the street or AX.
