Default Brake lights stay on after car is off...

I've been told by a friend that had a similar problem that there is a little switch on the pedal that is causing the problem.

Well, I'll assume it's the same problem (both are EG models), but what is done to fix it (haven't looked yet) ? Will I need to replace the plastic switch thing or is there a way to adjust it ?

So your brake lights are on all the time? Never go off?

If so, it's likely the switch.

Yeah, you need to get in there and check it out to see if it needs replacing.

It is your brake light switch. Look up under your dash where you brake pedal assembly is. Push on the pedal at the top of the assm. you will see a little rubber piece when you let off the pedal that rubber stop will hit you brake light sensor, you need to disconnect that sensor harness and remove the 14mm nut that holds it and replace that. When reinstalling it have a friend check you brake lights so you can adjust the sensitivity of the switch.

Turns out the little rubber stopper deteriorated and fell off... I had to improvise and replaced it with a short bolt w/ a nut on the outer and inner end to adjust it's length.

Thanks all...

Yep, thats what I did in my EF... did it with the brakes first, then the clutch switch died, just jammed a bolt in the holes for each pedal and wahlah... problem solved.
