Brake lights are on all the time!
I washed my car the other day after finishing some work on it. When I came out at night, I noticed my tail lights were on and thought I had left the headlights on or something. But, actually, it's my brake lights. I think water might've gotten thru the rear windshield and grounded the wires or something. But I'm not good with electrical. Can anybody tell me how I could check for the source of the problem?
no, check up under the dash. there is a little plastic clip that goes into the brake pedal that is made to push a switch when the brake pedal is released. which would turn the lights off. if that clip is gone then the switch never gets pushed and the brake lights will stay on. hope this helps.
Dang, I'm dumb. I forgot about that switch hahha. So anyways, I went to the car and the first thing I saw was bits and pieces of the clip on the carpet haha. I tested the switch by placing something else there, and of course it was the problem. Guess I gotta go find a replacement now...
