Have questions about an 1992 integra I have found????
I found a 1992 integra in my area...it came from pennsylvania. It has DOHC on it side moldings and it has no markings on the outside like gs, ls, etc... On one's that year does the v-tec look the same. I looked under the hood, but I didn't see it. When I look up this vehicle, the only one that is a DOHC is the gs-r. Am I corret? And am I wrong about this car being a v-tec.

In 1992, all Integras had DOHC engines. The GS, LS, etc. had the B18A engine making around 130 hp. The GS-R had the B17A engine making 160 hp.
If you looked under the hood at the valve cover and didn't see "DOHC VTEC" on it (the valve cover, design-wise, looks similar to later GS-Rs and ITR) then the engine is a B18A, assuming it has the original engine.

Sometimes I take my vtec home and just look at it all day
j/p If it is in fact a GS-R you should ****** it, they are rare

Yeah, 1992 was the first year for the GS-R in the States. I originally said 1993 but went back and edited (brain fart). There were approx 2500 GS-Rs for the States in 1992 and 1500 in 1993; rare.
I didn't bother to chase that down on kbb.com.. I can tell you it's wrong, though. All Integras in 1992 had DOHC engines. Oh yeah, and the B18A had 140 hp starting in 1992; I said 130 hp originally.

i own the car question in hand, from working on the car for the past 5 months i can tell you it's a DOHC. Even the 3 gen Integras are DOHC.

That is a non-Vtec Integra, forthe 92-93 VTEC gsr actually say VTEC on the molding where the DOHC is. The VTEC on the Molding and the small GS-R on the back are the only external clues that it is a GS-R

what are you talking about???
90-91 did not have a gsr.
92-93 had gsrs. they say VTEC on the mouldings.
all 90-93 integras had DOHC motors
so..if it is a 92 and it says DOHC on the mouldings, it is not a gsr.

This is correct, the car you are looking at is not a gs-r. It does not have VTEC side moldings, and they are probably not painted, as all gs-r moldings were. If it's a gs-r, it should only be white, red, or aztec green pearl with body colored moldings, mirrors, door handles and bumper molding, no other colors came stock on the 92-93 GSR.
Also, to clear up a lot of misinformation in this post. 90-91 Integras had B18A DOHC motors with 130hp, while 92-93 Integras either had a B18A DOHC with 140hp, or the B17A DOHC VTEC motor with 160hp.

Damn, where can I find an integra with more than one head!?

Black was not an OEM color for the GS-R. I am pretty sure only the LS Special edition had painted moldings and looks exactly like a gs-r (except for the badging)and came in either black or dark green. If it's repainted, it could be anything if they decided to paint the moldings - but it's definitely not a gs-r.

DOHC - Dual Over Head Cam
SOHC - Single Over Head Cam
Look on the engine for the code.. if it says B17a1, it is a GS-R with VTEC.
Also you can check the VIN #. That will tell you.
The easiest way to check and see if it is a GSR VTEC motor, is check the gauge. If the redline is 8000rpm, then it is a GSR.
END OF STORY.
2500 GSR models made in 1992
1500 GSR models made in 1993
I have a 92.. and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK

the gsr question has already been answered, and running the vin will tell you the most info on your specific car's original state.
as for the dohc question:
all integras, (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations), designated USDM came with DOHC motors
Japan and some other countries saw SOHC models......but we never did.
