Default Want to take over someones lease on a Type R...

Anybody within the vicinity of Ontario (Toronto??) that wants to get rid of a 2000 or 2001 Type R should get in touch with me. I am hoping to take over a lease on such a car, and thought it would be a good time to start looking. A perfect candidate would be a stock (yeah right!!), low mileage (maybe!!), non-tracked (YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!X2) ITR that was not involved in any accidents. If someone has a really low mileage ITR of different vintage, I might just reconsider my criteria. I am not looking to buy, so please don't post "FOR SALE" ITRS. I would like to take over a lease so, if and only if I come up empty handed will I buy one. Thank you. My email is Paul_573@yahoo.ca. I am ready for this beast, so help me out if you can.
Paul

Good luck taking over some ones lease. This came up a while ago and bout 99% of everybody on this board said they would never let someone take over there lease. Your best bet is to get a loan from a bank and buy the car straight up.

In the States, yeah, it might be hard to take over someone's lease, just because they are so much rarer there. Here in Canada, there is a lot more advertised for sale. I've seen two advertised, where someone wanted to get out of a lease. I guess I'm just trying my luck, and if I come up emtpy handed, I'll just buy one.
Anybody?????

paul_573... there is a guy in ATL that wants out of his lease. I know it's a good 15-20 hr drive/shipping, but though I'd give you a heads-up. Check out http://www.siatlanta.com ... then go to their message board... then to for sale forum for his advertisement.

Thanks Cosworth. This guy is also advertising somewhere on this message board. I know because I went through the 20+ pages of classifieds. I think he said something about Honda not allowing transfership of leases. Thanks anyways. Anyone else?????

Just buy the car, don't even bother with leasing, or trying to take over somebodies else lease.

Hooptie157- STI and Evo are both out of my price range. Maybe in a couple of years.

ITR 2K- I can't really afford to buy, so a lease makes more sense to me. Also it's a complete tax write off.

Vertius- Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Keep your ears open people, I am VERY intereseted in getting one ASAP.

AHFC does not allow one to transfer the lease. You have to pay it off, get the title and sell the car. That is the only way!

Cyberorth- American Honda, but not Honda of Canada. As far as I know, Honda of Canada allows transferships of leases. But I stand to be corrected.
