I Think He's Gettin' It
"Get the **** outta here!"
That was Karl's response after finding out he not only turned a faster lap than Renee in the race but did it on a lap where he went 2 wide with an ITS BMW through turn 12.
Huge leaps were made this weekend. The biggest being that traffic is no longer slowing him down by double digits. Renee is still more consistent in clicking off fast laps regardless of traffic, but Karl is getting there quick, and they are fairly quickly going to be pretty damned hard to beat. Actually, they already are pretty damned hard to beat.
Karl has become yet another in the fraternity that has learned the quickest way to become a better driver is to drive a slow car in a big field. Sink or swim baby.
Karl swam this weekend, and came off the track with a big smile and shakey hands.
Anybody out there with an ITC car who wants to take on a guy nicknamed "Rice" and a 44 year old mother of three... Bring it on.

I thought she was 11. That's how many candles we put on the cake.
I guess you aren't in as much trouble as I thought. You can ignore those policemen and their "Statutory Rape" claims that I sent.

Nope. Shes proud of it.
This past weekend was her birthday (hmmmm... Cake. Thanks to Bowie and Sarah), and "get the **** outta here" was also the typical response to it being her 44th.

If she is 44, what does that make you, 50
? I hear she is older than you, but she doesn't look it; have a nice day

A real highlight of the weekend. This kind of thing no longer rattles me. My traffic management has improved considerably. Still needs work, but doesn't everyone.
I am SO looking forward to VIR in three weeks, where it will be absolutely, positively ON in ITC.
Some of you (cough...Rinde...cough...) need to check this stuff out. There's nothing like racing in a 65+ car field, in the slowest-classed car in the group, and trying to manage all that. It's really busy.

Yep, traffic can own you! Look at the results from the NASA VIR enduro. #32 turned a faster single lap that #81 (us), but we put 40 + sec on #32 before the first caution period on lap #12; and another 40+ sec between the caution and our 1st pit stop. Working traffic and quicker pit stops netted a win by 2 laps.
Not slamming my buds Parker & Hunter, they're doing darn good for 18 - 21. Efficiency in traffic comes with experience. They'll be tough as hell next year.
(Holy cow, am I really 20+ years older than those doods!
