well i have a 98 ls with 107k on it and the automatic trans is starting to slip a bit so im thinking of dropping in a manual transmission. at first i was gonna do the engine and trans but the engine runs perfect and find no reason to get a new one yet. when i do put in a new engine it will most likely be the b18c(gsr) so i want the trans im goin to put into it now to be compatible with the b18c motor as well. im not sure if an ls tranny will hold or if i should get a gsr trans, but will the gsr trans match up with the ls motor. im not too sure how a trans and motor match up and if they are interchangeable. if u have any comments please fill me in.

 

put a b16 trans in, it has shorter gears, unlike an ls trans which is longer, and the b16 trans is also shorter than the gsr..

 

gsr trans will fit an ls motor but i would go with b16
