GSR Swap with wicked bad gas mileage...whats wrong? IDEAS?
Whats up everyone? My name is Dustin and I'm new to Honda-Tech. I have a 92 hatch with a 97 GSR swap. Motor pulls wicked strong for a stock GSR motor. Problem is the cars gas mileage is wicked bad. I probably get 7-9 miles a gallon. I tested the cars fuel pressure at work and read 50-55psi which is way higher than stock psi and the fuel pressure regulator is stock. The car runs extremely rich and idles like a 500hp beast. If you have any ideas please just let me know. Problem is really starting to get old and I am wasting so much money in gas. AGAIN motor is stock with just an exhaust.
well my idea is that maybe the fuel return line is either pinched or clogged. i took off the fuel return line off the fpr and the fuel pressure dropped to 42-45psi which is closed to stock. so what i am gonna do is disconnect the other end of the fuel return line near the gas tank and turn the car on and run the line into a catch can and see if it comes out with pressure or barely streaming so that should give me an idea if its the hard line or not.
