Dynamat Question???
I am planning out the sound system for my car ('01 ACCORD COUPE EX) and I am thinking about dynamatting the car. I want to do the full trunk, roof, floor, both doors, rear area(where speakers sit), and anywhere else that will help. I dont know how much I need though. Has anyone done this before?? How many square feet will I need for this plan? Any other helpful info will be appriciated. Thanks for your help
try posting in the right section of the site... youll get a better response... but why are you going to dynamat all that? only certain areas you hear rattling is all it needs un less youre trying to quiet out road sounds.
Yes, I agree, all that is going to do is slow your car down more. Dynamat about 6" around your speakers, dynamat the trunk, maybe dynamat the firewall and hood if you hate engine noise. But all of that is going to weigh a LOT and have no real purpose.
Why would you want to dynamat your roof?

Dynamat is hella expensive. Go to Home Depot and get the stuff in the roofing section. I believe it's called Wet Seal, or something like that. Comes in 6" by like 50ft. for $20. Works the same as dynamat and is much cheaper.
extra advice, before you dynamat yoo ride, at home depot they sell this foam spray in a can, get that and spray the minor opens on the wall truck or any other places, helps a lot, and you dynamating everything? bad idea, like the others said, cost a lot and does weigh a lot, it's just senseless. but do the truck n surroundings witht he foam spray, good luck with yoo system, hope it knocks da clothes off da girls when you cruise down the street
