So today my friends and i installed 99-00 OEM civic fog lights on my car, and we did this little DIY mod to turn on the fogs without the headlights.

So after we installing my fog lights with this DIY mod we put everything back together and i tested everything out and it worked fine. Then i armed & disarmed my alarm for the first time with the fogs installed (and they were in the ON positon so it flashed also) and everything was cool. Then i did disarmed the car and noticed when i disarmed it this time the parking lights stoped flashing, as well as when it arms. Then i go in my car and turn all my lights on to see if the lights still work on the outside and they do, but then the instrument lights (cluster & Climate Control) didn't work anymore. i checked both of the fuses and they were fine as well as the 10 amp i added for the tail lights.

Now we don't know what could be wrong; has this happened to anyone else? because the instrument lights (cluster & climate control) still flash when i arm & disarm my alarm but the outside parking lights don't flash, but when i turn on my lights the cluster and climate control doesn't light up.

are they OEM or Depo's?
Just asking cause ive seen some people say that there Depo's were OEM

no they're OEM i got them from HandA

are the harness clips in all the way? sounds like a wire came loose or something. or shorted out.

yes they are. NOTHING like OEM

okay so my radio does work.

now it's the parking lights that don't work when i arm and disarm my car, and instrument lights don't work (cluster & climate control) when i turn it on the first and sencond click but they flash when i arm and disarm.

what could be wrong? everything was fine untill i used my alarm the 2nd time.

 

Close to the same thing happened to me. Turned out to be a fuse. I would re-check your fuses just in case. I checked them 3 times before I found it. lol

what happen to your car? what didn't work? i mean everything was fine untilli used my alarm for the first time with the fogs installed. and what fuses were blow btw

My car doesn't have fog lights or an alarm, but when I changed a burnt out tail light, I accidentally put in the wrong bulb. It blew the fuse but I couldnt find it at first. But the same thing happened with my instrument lights messing up, and my radio was acting weird. My car isn't here now and I forgot what the fuse was called, but I didn't find it until I decided to take every one out and check it.

ohh well everyting was fine untill i used my alarm for the first time. so i guess i'll check all the fuses again. i just don't know if its my alarm or what it could be

 

My ek did that when i installed the citylights. Be sure and check the fuses. I also overlooked the blown fuse several times. Bump for another opinion

 

i could almost gaurentte its a fuse are you using a multimeter?????

yea i hope it's just a fuse. multimeter = thing to see if fuse is still good?

it's just weird because when i arm & disarm my car the parkings lights don't flash but the instrument lights (cluster & climate control) do, but when i go in my car to turn on my lights manually it's the opposite, the parking lights and headlights work but the instrument lights don't.

could it be an alarm fuse or anything? if the alarm does have any fuses.
