hey guys i live in Lima, Oh and i have a '91 hatch std with the crappy D15b1 motor in it... anyways the motor is all stock except for an intake and exhaust... lately ive had problems when starting up the motor after its sat for more than an hour... it would crank over but not fire up... i cleaned the injectors and it still has the problem... it would start up after a few times of cranking it over but run crappy for the first few minutes(jumping forward then hesitation over and over again when i go WOT) in first and second gear... then my friend that i work with came out one night when it wouldnt start and manually choked it by taking the intake off and holding his hand over it while i crank it... it started perfectly!! i tried it later on that night and it worked but now it does do it anymore... im doing it exactly the same way but to no avail ... the last few days ive been spraying starter fluid in it and this seems to work... whats wrong with my car?!! i think its something to do with the fuel system... my friend says he thinks its the MAP sensor but i dont know... what do you guys think? Fuel filter getting clogged?

 

i just finished replacing my fuel filter... it took a few tries to start it up so i guess we'll see in the morning how it does after it sits for a while in the cold ... thanks for the opinion... thats what i thought it was too but wasnt sure... i was thinking MAP sensor mostly since it started up right away when my friend choked it... later
