high idle

Default high idle

when i turn on my car and its in park, my idle is on 1.5 rpm. Is that normal? and when its in d4 w/ a full stop, its at 1.0 rpm. is that normal ?

i would like to know this too, because thats how mine idles for a lil bit when started up, and then slows to 690-710 in idle after warmed up, but to me, thats normal

i have the same problem...idles at like 15-2G on start ups..then moves bak to 500-700 after warmed up...=/...i got a 95 accord LX btw

i believe that at cold start up, those are normal.
after the car warm up, idle is 750 rpm for accord...
well, this for my car...correct me if i'm wrong

also check the spec on your hood...it should tell you the normal idle at warm up

Yeah seems taht this is a normal thing. Idling at 1500 to warm up then dropping between 600-800. it'll drop to this if you put it in drive (auto) too. otherwise it'll sit at 1500, designed to warm it up faster i believe.

the high idle is merely a way to warm the motor up faster...an idle of 1500-2000 will warm the motor up faster than the regular 750 rpm idle...this is what that little device on the intake manifold called the iacv is for...
