Help, i bog off the line
I have justed installed a fidanza flywheel on my d16z6, it pulls hard in the higher r's but when i launch i bog alot before my rpm rises. The car was acting fine before i insatalled it, has anyone else had this problem before? Do i need to launch higher or is there another problem ( I'm already lauching at 4200)?
I already have an aem intake, DC 4-2-1 headers, magnaflow exhaust, MSD 6AL, MSD blaster3 coil, accel 8.33mm wires, Skunk2 intake maifold, no cat, JUN ecu, tokico 5 way adj suspension, neuspeed front tower brace, ACT stager 2 clutch. and my racing tires are nitto 555r's.

Lt flywheels arnt meant for dragracing, think more along the lines of autocross. If your cars specific purpose is drag I would put the stock flywheel back on otherwise you are going to have to launch at a higher RPM. I noticed this same thing when I put a lt flywheel in my RX7 but I dont drag race it so it didnt bother me. good luck
I thought about putting the stock one back in but wasn't sure. I wanted to wait and ask everyone here to see if any one else has had the same problem.
wouldnt want to lunch at 9900 rpms. cuz you wont make it to second gear. i would launch around 5000 and see if its better, just go to an empty parting lot and try at different rpms.

i dont have enough power to break anything. all i know is that it hooks up whenever i do that. but in your case maybe a higher launch is necessary or more practice with feathering the clutch. also, ur redline being 9900. just because you got some jun ecu doesnt mean your car can handle it.

Practice.
Youve just tossed in a lightweight flywheel its gonna act different. 4000 rpm is way to low imo.
Listen to what these guys are saying, feather the clutch...any jerky clutch movements will cause either to much or to little grip. Once you feel the car has hooked up let it out all the way.
For instance in my b18c-r set up I launched (street tires) at 6800 rpm a slight feathering action and in the first 15 feet I was already in vtec.
Oh yeah....Practice.
Have Fun!

Thanks for all the help every one i going to go out and practice. Also i know a stock sohc vale train won't handle going to 9900 rpm that why my MSD rev limiter is set at 7000 and my shift ligt is set for 6600. I might be able to go that high but there is no way i would.
