Hey guys, i have a 92 hatchie, just recently, over the past couple days, while driving my gas pedal seems to be stuck and i have to kick it to get it to push down. I looked at the throttle body and the butterfly, cleaned it all with carb cleaner, and cleaned up the pedal assembly w/ wd-40 also...but to no avail. please if anyone knows what might be causing this let me know...this is very irritating!!

 

Same thing happens on my 98 EX, I helped it a little by lubing the pivot points for the pedal, as well as spraying the throttle rotor, but what helped alot as well is spraying down where the cable comes out of the tubing by the throttle body. Therse like a little rubber accordion looking thing, spray all inside there with some lube/grease and work the pedal a little, should help.

 

i just have begun having the same problem. i recently installed a gude tb w/a aebs im, and the pedal has been getting stuck even causing me to stall once i tried wd40 on the throttle cable too but nothing

Did you ever find a solution to the pivot problem. Im having a similiar problem on mine. I found that the pivot itself needs to be tightened somehow, if the pivot and pedal are not flush against the assembly, they dont pivot properly causing it to stick.

 

¿¿¿is it automatic...???

i remember my friends old legend would do that, and it was one of the passing gears that was stuck and it would do the same thing...

no i havent, im just driving around with a sticky pedal.... ....what do u mean by the "pivot"....u mean the pedal assembly, or the TB?

no its a manual.

 

It is your cable there is something in the throttle body cable hanging up I did a 91 civic with and LS swap and had the same problem. I bought a used junkyard piece and had the same problems. You have to replace the cable maybe $50 at the dealer.

well, when i give it gas from the TB under the hood it seems like its sticking and its hard to push to give it gas manually by hand....by good luck, do u mean that its gonna be a bitch to fix????
