a tranny wont kick into gear if theres no pressure right? a leak that squirts like syrup from a bottle will make the car run but only rev and not go anywhere? need quick answer

zz , ok listen one of my cars got a leak while i was driveing, herd a poping sound so i imagine its a seal. white smoke came from the engine (white = tranny fluid). if you know anything about transmisions (auto) will a leak prevent the transmission from moveing into drive. i know transmission use pressure with the vacum hose modulators.

Im guessing this isnt a Honda. I have never heard this happening on a honda. The only car i heard and seen this happen to was a Grand National when he was on the dyno. He popped his tranny seal where you add tranny fluid and it is an auto.

So what car is this and its an auto correct?

K.I.S.S. follow the leak til you find where its at. Worse case would be having to take the tranny off to find it.

 

its a ford probe 98 , same tranny as the mazda. the same principle goes with any auto tranny even a civic.

i almost took the tranny off but was defeated but a motor mount. imposible to get to and remove so i decided to just keep the tranny up and try my luck sealing the outside to retain pressure
