a have a gsr head on my ls/vtec and alot of people argue that the gsr head is weak for this set up, that b16 is the way to go. i think that a gsr head has better flow than a b16. any info would be nice.
you are right a gsr head is better, it does flow better than a b16 head, and if i'm right the combustion chambers are smaller on the gsr head too but i'm not 100% sure about that
The is a ton of info in the search. They are both close in real world performance. The b16 stock intake is good to work with so I usually suggest that head for the guy on a budget. If your getting an aftermarket intake it comes down to which one I run across first. They are both good heads.

i just wanted to know. if there both stock which will give you better performance. i also heard that the gsr cams are a little better than the b16 cams.. also which head would be better ported. thx foo the info. i love HT
Here it is: GSR head has 41.5cc combustion chambers where B16 head has 42.7cc. The GSR head will raise compression by like .2 appr.

thats not the only difference, but thats a main one
combustion chamber design, port angle, blah blah blah.
it is a totally different head, practically flows the same.
Pick your fancy, one isnt clear cut better than the other.
Both have advantages, both have disadvantages

The gsr head raises the comp by 0.3 actually :-D I just put a b16 head on a gsr block, and I lost 0.3 comp, and most piston manufactures state 0.3 in there catalogs.
If you where to port both heads, there wouldnt be much difference, but stock for stock I like the b16 head better, Ive had less problems with high revs and valve train wear.
