Default H22 AN-R header fitment problems help!!!

I have a 91 jdm SiR h22a in a 98 Civic CX. I recently purchased and recieved an AN-R header. My problem is this header hits the alternator plug!! I have not driven the car yet, but in this setup I have no doubt it would damage or melt the alternator plug. Does anyone know of an altenator that puts out the same amperage that doesnt have a back mounted plug on the altenator and that will mount on my engine? I really dont want to relocate my alternator. Its more of a pain that its worth in my opinion, but if all else fails I will do it.

problem is looks like no matter what bracket u put on the top, the plug is going to hit. If I had room I could get a longer belt and pull the alternator away some. Problem is I have (at the most) about 1" of clearance between the alternator pulley and the driverside headlamp assembly. There just isnt any room to come out to clear the plug!! I thought perhaps the USDM H22s, or some Accord engine might have the same amperage alternator with a different plug location which would help me out.

i saw a while back a custom bracket that actually mounted the alternator where the AC compressor used to go. This way it clears the headlight, the header and everything else. I did a quick search but couldn't find it. It is out there though. Make a detailed look... BTW, did you contact AN-R?

worst case scenario is to get ahold of a 93+ h22 or h23 alternator and alternator plug which is smaller and just change it.

personally I'd just ditch the alternator plugs and run 4 spade connectors and fully insulate all of them.
