Default GT4- Quick Money (game/prize car spoiler)

Okay, so you decided to be a man and not carry over the money from GT3. Good for you! So how do you get the fast cars and big bucks quickly? Well, I got lucky as hell, but this is how it worked for me....

Start with the CRX Si for $4500 or so. Turbo it, and lighten it, and you can win the Sunday Cup and FF races. Then go over to the Japanese Events area. The last one is a special race for the little cars. To me that means things like the Honda Beat, but the CRX qualifies, and totally dominates with little mods.

Take that money, go back to the used car lot, and get the old style WRX STi for around $9k. Put on the stage 2 turbo and lighten it and you are pretty much good. Go back to the Japanese area, and do the '90s race with it. Another easy championship, and a Nismo Skyline GTR is there for your effort.

With the money from that series, either crank up the boost on the WRX or the GTR, it doesn't really matter - either one works for the next step. Once that car is prepped, do the Japanese championship (the first race listed). Not only do you get a lot of money, but the reward car is a 350Z LeMans. I haven't found anything that can come close to beating that 350 yet, and the only mod I did was to buy street tires for the lesser race series that don't allow R compounds.

Once you have the Z you are set. Anytime you need money, take the Z car to the Japanese championship, and win it again. It sells for over $350k, in addition to the $75k you win for the races themselves.

That was just my path, but I thought I would share since it works so well...

Matt

not bad, but i have a bigger problem the 350 LM cant beat. its the world championship i belive and is the last in the professional series. they have rediculous le mans cars in it that even the JGTC motul 350z with 926 hp cant beat. it kept up with them with medium slicks but wont last 10 laps like the others do. anyone find any faster cars?

Haven't really done much for racing yet. I just spent the last couple hours getting all of my licenses. I didn't know they had the whole Nurburgring in the game. What a blast

That's not bad. I'm just lolly gagging with GT4.

With GT3 I won the Miata with the B license test. Turbo'd it and did the Super Speedway endurance and won the F090/S and then dominated the rest of the game that allowed that car to race. (After getting all license of course). By that time you have enough money to buy all the cars to do the rest of the races. 100% completion, 100% wins. Kinda felt like cheating, but hey it's allowed in the game.

I've been busy with work so I haven't had time to do anything but play the 'Ring in arcade mode. Just wondering if anyone has turned a faster lap time than a 6:32. I picked several cars but the Lister was fastest. I tuned it in the "tune Up" option and increased the hp to 712 and lowered the weight 10%.

The Dome JGTC NSX came closest at 6:34.

Surprisingly these lap times are quicker than the official 'Ring record of 6:52 set by Stephan Beloff in a Porsche 962,

Regards,

Jon

I was wondering what the fastest lap around the ring was, so I looked into it the other day. I was under the impression that the fastest lap was 6:11. We may be talking formula vs. production here.....Anyone know what the fastest lap is?

Yes you are correct I looked it up again. For some reason I thought it was 6:52 but it makes sense that it's closer to 6 minutes flat since some production cars (limited production) are doing close to 7 and 1/2 minutes.

Just better the lap time with the JGTC Supra. 6:24 and it wasn't even a perfect lap.

Playing with a gamepad sucks!

has anyone noticed that in order to compete in the spider/roadster races, not only must the car be a convertible, but the top must be down. wasted 50g on an amuse s2000 to find that one out

I did it with the new Viper, and the top is up.

As for getting better cars to win that last race in the pro cup... Have you started doing the enduros yet? Traditionally that is the best place to win the very top cars. Don't they have the Audi R8 available in this game?

I managed a 6:24 with the Nissan 350 LM pretty easily. I got gold in both of the license tests that lap the 'ring, but I can't come close to winning driving mission 34 where you have to catch the 300 SL gullwing while driving the new McLaren. I got within 8 seconds, but that's still an eternity away. Has anyone won it yet?

I'm with you on the gamepad front. The McLaren is quite touchy and hard to drive at the limit.

**** that, I have a much better way that gives more money.

First, buy an EG from the used cars. Modify it a bit, you might have to go race in Sunday Cup or FF Races to make some money for mods.

After that, go to the Honda dealer and race in the Civic race one or two times. Each race (5 total) win gives you $5000 plus a Mugen EA which gives you $95,000, so you get a total of about $120,000 from winning that race once. Sell the EA (you can win this car more than once).

Take your money and go buy an SL65 and modify it (you need to beat a Mercedes SLR next). So, once you've modified it a bit (doesn't take too much), go to the Mercedes Dealer and race in the Legend of Silver Arrows Race (I think that's what it's called). You get $15,000 for each race you win (5 total) and you win the Mercedes CLK Touring Car. Now, DON'T SELL THAT CAR!!! It sells for $110,000, but you need to keep it for what's coming next.

Ok, this is the final step if you've decided to follow through with this. Take that Mercedes CLK Touring Car and enter the Deutche Series something or other in the European Events section. Each race (5 total) gives you $15,000, plus you get a $75,000 championship bonus. And then....you win the CLK-GTR Race Car which....sit down for this one....sells for $742,000!! You can win this more than once, so, from that race, you get about $892,000 as many times as you want. You might wanna keep the CLK-GTR one of the times you win it, it's an incredibly badass car.

Now, I think that beats the original posters $350,000 Have fun.

Me and BauleyCivic have spent hours figuring this out.

Speaking of Bauley Civic.... We should do another "Fast Lap" competition in the GDD forum.

I think I still have my screen shots from the last one.

I took the rear wiper assembly off of the Golf and ordered two new Toyos from http://www.philstireservice.com. My plan is to run races where I can win a particle board plaque.

Damn, I see a lot of you guys are playing I'm still messing with the licenses. I actually like getting all the licenses opposed to playing the game sometime. I'm about 5 events aways from my super license. I'm stuck on that Audi Race car that is pretty damn difficult to control, sort up. All I can say is that the Nurburgring was awesome. After watching that video of Hans driving on that course at those speeds and then actually playing the game I was like . I was only able to manage a 9:30 on the ring with that Benz 190, but I was trying to play it cool because one wrong move and . I've been driving over my buddies house to play the game. What kind of college kid doesn't have a PS2 or gt4 for that matter me

I'm hoping that there is a use for those cars in the extreme events. I have two future cars now, and it would be nice to be able to enter a race with one of them.

i enjoy the licenses too, ive got all gold on the a, b, ib, ia licenses. ive yet to tackle to the super license and attempt gold on all that. The only really tough test to get gold on was the last one on the IA so far. Its a tricky one. Nevertheless, winning all gold is not worth it. The cars you get are not worth the time in a, b, ia, ib. Maybe the B licnese for the honda s800. Do you know what you get if u get all gold on the Super?
