EK Civic Dome light INOP when door opens
Anyone ever have problems with their dome light not turning on when the door opens? I got an EK, and the dome light turns on when you slide the switch to the on position, but doesn't come on when its one the "door" position with the door open.
Any advice?

Its a 96-98 right? You have an aftermarket radio huh? That's your problem. For some odd and frankly stupid reason Honda ran the keyless entry system and dome light through the stock radio. So, get a stock radio and a harness splitter, stuff the radio behind the dash and your set.
mine is the same way but i got a eg, anyway to fix? I already ckecked my door switches and they're all good.

Hmm...by harness splitter are you referring to a stereo installation harness? I have a 97 hatch and an aftermarket radio; no problems here.
theres somthing about connecting the 2 green wires on the harness and that will work! cant exactly remember but i think thats right try to search it

Thats because you dont have keyless entry.
Go to any local car stereo store, best buy, circuit city, tweeter, ebay, http://www.sounddomain.com, they all should have it. Basically its just a splitter harness so you can run power to both your OEM radio and the aftermarket one off of the one stock harness. And you need to keep the green harness plugged into the stock radio and stuff it down behind where the power outlet is. Tight fit, but it makes it.

check that thread, i remember it having something on connecting the green wires. i have an aftermarket head unit and i did the same thing, just gotta splice into the two green wires with jumper wires and you're set.

if you splice those wires, then you don't have to have your stock radio stuffed in the back..
