Hello. This is my first post. I'm considering buying an S2000 and I would like to use this site, if possible, to learn more about the car. In particular, I would like to learn about all the known design flaws, glitches, problems, etc. I already know quite a lot about the car's strengths (otherwise, I would not be considering one!).

If anyone could direct me to the part of this site that covers Maintenance or Technical issues, I'd be grateful. If there are no forums for that, then maybe someone could make a short list of things I ought to know before buying an S2000. And be sure to tell me how many miles you have on your car!

By the way, I haven't even been able to find out from the sales guys at the dealers if there is any differences from one model year to another. So, _any_ info would be really, really welcome.

thats where i started. i was on there for 4 months before i bought my S, and the 1st day i had my S i joined the site. i learned a lot while i was buying the car.

Same thing i did, so now i know how long i've had my car by how long i've been on that site

I agree with all of the above responses, but just to give you a little help...

Mainly...the biggest differences you'll want to look for are the rear window from 2000/2001-2002+...in 2002 they put glass rear windows in all of them, in 2000 and 2001 you got plastic. As far as the AP1 goes im thinking that in 2002 they also changed the fact that the carpet ran all the way up to where the arm rest/console is. There are little things, and a few improvements like synchro's as well.

2004+ brings the AP2...alot of differences including new 2.2litre engine, different fascia, different tail lights, little more power (but not much), more displacement but less revving room, different gauge cluster, new factory alloy 17" wheels with better tires, new armrest and console with aluminum slide plate, radio cover and new steering wheel...shifter ****...etc etc etc...you eventually just get into little details.
