So a put a fuel pressure guage in...
You might be able to disconect the return line after the regulator.Stick a hose on it and run that hose into a gas can.Start it up and check the pressure.

And what is stock psi for a b16? 30-35 right? </TD></TR></TABLE>
The bottom half of the oem regulator will work at 45 psi and below. Above 45 psi the return orifice is too small and you'll run rich especially at idle. Stock fuel pressure for the b16 is 35-41 psi with vacuum hose disconnected from the intake manifold.

Good idea
Like he said run a hose off the line comming out of the bottom of the regulator into a gas can on the side of the car andcycle the fuel pump a few times..You dont even need to start it actually.

what do i look for if i dont have to start the car?
it reads 93-100 when car is on, and goes back down to 35 or so when car is off.
Just replaced fpr and no change

Tbone means you don't need to actually start the car up to check the pressure.Just turn the key to the run position without turning it all the way to engage the starter.Just be careful disconnecting the return hose.If it is pinched on the other end,it may be pressurized with fuel.

Yes when you cycle the key it will build the pressure in the line up till where your regulator is set, anything over that pressure will pass through the regulator and return to the gas tank via the return line. If your return line is pinched or clogged in any way, or you regulator is bad it wont allow the excess pressure in the line go back to the tank and will cause it to back up and show extreme line pressure on the gauge like yours is..
Btw , did you put together the B & m ? I think you installed the spring wrong and this is why its pegging, it wont let the fuel drain back because the valve is being forced shut because your spring is in wrong

it showed high pressure with the stock fpr. Then i put the b&m in and it still does the same thing.
how can you put the spring in wrong?

just put the return line in a bottle primed the system and it put gas through the return line and into the bottle.

Well thats it for my idea's.Seems odd that the fpr would jam closed at the same time you changed the pump.85#'s are about what the walbro pumps make with the fpr closed.

i have an B&M fpr with the gauge as well but mine runs at like 48 and like 50+ with the hose unpluged..
On my air/fuel gauge when i accelerate in any gear, it stays way red and way lean until about 3k rpm ...
i would say its not correct
ideas?

Ok but more importantly, while it was draining into the bottle what was the gauge reading? Did it still go up to 80 psi.. Remember were looking to see if the return to the tank is plugged not the 5 in hose from the fpr to the hard line on the firewall..

GOD DAMN,
Well i took off the fuel rail, injectors all the fuel lines and cleaned out the fuel rail, and fuel lines.
I even dropped the tank incase a line was pinched.
But now it still runs at 100 PSI!!! But its not really sputtering like its rich. And the smoke out the back isnt too dark.
Is there any ways to verify if its running rich/lean.? could i tap the o2 sensor and see what the reading is?

did you try sticking the stock one back in to see what kind of pressure get? maybe you got a bad gauge.. when i switched to walbro 255pump and B&M regulator it bump my pressure to 48psi and cannot adjust it lower.... someone has a thread on B&M fpr so that you could get the pressure lower.... drilling a tiny hole in the stock fpr and it solved my problem now its ideling at 38psi...
guess i gotta find a external fuel pressure guage set
I was gonna try drilling out the fpr but idk how much of a difference it would make i dont know if it would releive the 60 lbs of pressure
