removal of a small pin holding my door on
I'm in the process of swapping doors on my Sol and everything is going great until I come across this little pin in the door jam. There is a little bar holding the door to the body, I have no idea why it is there but it is indpendent of the hinges. This bar is held with some pin thing, open you door to see what I'm talking about. How do I remove it?
If its the one I'm thinking of, theres a little "C" clip on the top of it. Take 2 flat head screwdrivers and push on each end of the "C". It will most assuredly go flying off into some unknown part of your garage/parking area, so if you want to reuse it, make sure to keep a close eye on where it flies to.
Are you talking about the pin that holds your hinges together? Or are you talking about the silver colored pin that connects to the thing that holds the door open? If if its the silver thing, just tap it out from the bottom with a small hammer. Its pretty simple really. I think that jlacoy82 is talking about the pin for the hinge. Its probably much easyer just to take the hinge off at the door jam or at the door. That what I did when I got my new door and it took all of 5 minutes to swap them. Don't forget to un-plug the wire loom that connects to the door. (Its easyer with 2 ppl BTW)
Good luck!
Good luck!
I'll go check it out and hammer away, I just wanted to make sure they wasn't a simple way without force, thanks!
