A'PEXi VTEC controller: I just got mine installed, need some help!!!
Hey guys,
I got my VTEC Controller installed yesterday, and I jus wanted to know what RPM's is every1's controller set at for the VTEC to kick in? When I got it installed, they already programmed it for me, but I want to see what is the best time to have it kick in. Also, how much did every1 pay for their controller and installation. Thanks

I paid $280 for my VAFC and the installation was FREE (DIY). As for my VTEC point, I have it at 4800rpm. Any lower and my car seems to slow down before 5000rpm and higher doesn't make a difference. BTW, I have a turbo and lowering the VTEC crossover to 4800 smoothed the dip in power around that area.......For a FI car, sorry.....
I have a 2K1 Lude, no major mods, jus intake. Right now, I think its 5000, then the other number is 5300. WHat do VTi and VTo sstand for? I just want to know what would be the perfect time for it to hit. Thanks for the input G.

VTi is vtec input and VTo is output, in case you didn't find your manual. I've seen some dyno plots with VTEC setting at 5000 and it smoothed their power dip in that area also........
back in day when we all had Field Vtec Controllers (before they all blew up on us)... we set them to 4400. Off the dyno, that proved to be the best. Something like 13 hp gain max on the middle of the power band
