it helps prevent heatsoak... if you live in a very high climate i say get it for 60 bucks.... if you track the car a lot.. then i say you get it....

It's worth it to prevent a hotter engine. Not a bad way to spend $60. But be forewarned, that if you have the spoon/mugen thermo stat and all the other goodies, your engine temp will only go as high as 2 bars on the dash. Installation is a pain in the butt.

I hear the Spoon thermo alone will not allow the car to reach 3 bars in colder climates.

I have one of those sitting in my house somewhere to lol.

the biggest pain in the *** part is getting to those bolts on the bottom of the intake manifold... sheesh, make sure you have the right tools. The first time I took mine off, I didnt and I ended up using like a 2 foot extension on my rachet lol. Good luck, its not that hard.

your friends of course have actual data to support there oppinions right ?

If anything there reusable so if your prone to do motor work it's nice. I've used a couple and there's no seat of the pants kick but it's a sound concept and the k sries have shown gains as they use a metal im gasket

thats actually false, I have them in my racecar and my street car, both of whihc are b-series, speaking of ... I have in on this setup:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1141433

I do have one for my S2K sitting on it for over a year cause I'm also too lazy to install, but I'll get around to it.

Bottom line is it does help.

had it on my del sol ls/vtec setup.
i actually had a hondata datalogging system on it, so i can actually prove with datalogs that it is better. During long trips the intake air temps were on average 7-8 degrees cooler. for drag racing and such it didn't help much because the car was just sitting after being run hard and air wasn't cycling, so the IM was heat soaked but at cruising speeds and for track use... thumb up!
