today at school i hooked up my car to one of the smog machines and i was checking out the timing on it. i got the red line and the arrow to line on the pulley where u check the timing, but when they both lined up together the machine was saying that i was at 5 degree's WTF?. was i doing this right or no? the smog machine has the timing gun where u can adjust the light. the car dont run like ****, but i was just wondering if i was checking the timing right? please help me out thanks

 

put a paper clip in the by-pass under the paas side dash.
